Purikura

Purikura (プリクラ), (also known in Japan only as "puri") is an abbreviation for Purintokurabu, of English "Print Club", but what is this? Purikura are very nice and cute photo booths that can easily be found in many places in Japan, mainly in malls and Game Centers.

These photo booths began to appear in Japan in 1995 and became more known in 1997, today the number of booths has declines, but they remain very popular.

But what's so special in photographic booths? Probably you have seen photos that were taken in purikura but well, they work more or less like a photoshop, but more fun♡ in Purikura is possible to choose the background of your photos, choose the size of the eyes, put cute accessories, write, remove skin imperfections... the editing and decorative possibilities are endless, just be creative!

And to help you, moste of the cabins on the outside has a few examples of editing for you inspiration.

About the price is around ¥300 or ¥400 and works like this: you put the money and choose the backgound, so you can get in the booth and take some pictures, but need to be fast because the pictures are taken automatically after a few seconds. After taking the pictures just go to a "screen" on the side and decorate your photos! But, bad news, you only have a few minutes to decorate your photos and with so many editing possibilities is difficult, but it's still fun.

The photos are printed at the same time and you can choose how they will be printed, so after editing, just go on the site where the photos are printed (in own booths), usually at this local has a table with scissors you can use to cut your photos and share between friends♡

Photos can be in the form of card or adhesive and now most of booths have an app that sends pictures to the phone or e-mail.

In some places it is not allowed that man alone use the booths, only men accompanied women.

...but remember, this is only in a few places.

So, you already know the purikura? What do you think? Would you like to take some pictures in those famous booths from Japan? I hope you enjoyed!
